Here's some additional information about the road rally:
Although the last train in March, 1953 had rung down the curtain on the actual operation, the railway, much like the finale of the Detroit, Bay City & Western Railroad, its predecessor, refused to lie down and die peacefully. This APRIL 13TH, the Detroit, Caro & Sandusky will rise up from the cinders to allow us to discover more of her story 66 years later. Join us on a trip back though time when the Whale of a 3 chime whistle echoed though the fields of Michigan's Thumb, and the Rhythmic sound of the mighty iron horse cutting her way though the grass choked tracks to Sandusky.
We will all meet up at the State Street Cafe in Caro, MI between 10:00 and 10:30 to get organized and head out for an historical fun filled adventure.
