OK, so...
1) LS&MS wye leg at BO was reversed sometime between 1964 and 1998. I am going to say "between 1964 and 1980". Interesting you that NYC started running long freights down to Elkhart in the 1960's. So they were already doing that pre-Conrail. Prior to long trains headed down to Elkhart, did the long trains head West to Porter, IN? So perhaps the NYC wanted to keep the Kalamazoo traffic out of Chicago... use Elkhart to buffer the traffic congestion?
2) Did GTW officially take over trackage for the C&KT had their yard near the baseball stadium / steel scrap yard just East of Mills Street? I have seen old maps that the CK&S is just a single track along side that yard.
3) How many tracks wide was the LS&MS yard North of Patterson? Enough to do serious work, or did the paper mill traffic occupy the space in that yard?
