Here's are two photos taken by my mother-in-law of the troop train leaving Grand Rapids Unions Station that carried her new husband to War in 1942. Just married, as with many other couples like them, they would not see and only rarely hear from each other until 1945. He was blessed to return from his duty in the Pacific theatre, alive, to eventually celebrate his wedding anniversary with his bride 50 years later. I'm only guessing this is a southbound Pennsy train. Destination unknown.
