Re: MIGN former d&h SHARKS
Note that Mr. John Larkin, President of the E&LS, sits on the Board of Directors of the railroad museum in Duluth. Based in the Soo Line depot with a covered train shed to protect most of the equipment, the museum also owns an ex-DM&IR line close to the Lake Superior shore line up to Proctor where active ore docks are located. Diesel powered excursions are operated during the summer and fall months. Speculation on my part, but perhaps the two Sharks will end up there at a time of Mr. Larkins choosing. Of note, the museum displays include the original and only surviving Milw Road boxcabs and one of three surviving DM&IR 2-8-8-4 locomotives and the only one which three times an hour when the museum is open, goes through a cycle where the lights come on and with a taped steam exhaust of one of the locomotives, the drivers on both engine sets rotate. The drivers are slightly elevated above the rail and powered by two electric motors using chain drives to a sprocket on one driver axle for each engine set.
