I think I may have been to one game when it was called Briggs Stadium, my most memorable game there was in 1963 against the Kansas City Athletics. In the sixth or seventh inning, the Tiger's catcher, Gus Triandos, my favorite player at the time, was intentionally walked to pitch to "Hammering" Hank Aguirre, one of the worst hitting pitchers of all times. Aguirre hit a two run single that wound up being the game winner.
