GTW New Hudson mp 55.1

Having cheated and looked at his other pics, I would say PSK is correct about New Hudson. So now I will guess that he wants to know if they're really was a wye there. The answer is yes, it shows up on the DTE aerial photos. If the question is about the strange cross arm on the pole, I haven't a clue

PSK is correct! South side of Grand River Ave in New Hudson.
And Dave is correct on the questions! Why there was a wye there is one question. It’s there on a 1954 USGS map, and not there on an earlier map from something like 1911 I think. Gone by 1969.
Other question is indeed about that code line pole. Interesting to note that there are two extra tall poles there, which must've carried the wires over the siding coming off the west side of the main track. But why is the cross arm so far off to one side on that pole? My suspicion is the pole was farther away from the main because it was next to the switch, and the cross arm was moved to the side the keep the path of the wires linear (otherwise the tension on the wires would have been pulling the insulators toward the main track)

I did a little investigation a while back of the mystery wye that was located in New Hudson
Image 1954 topo map
Here is where the north leg of the wye crossed the creek. The mucky water of the creek is in the bottom right. The ROW was actually fairly wide, looks like it may have held a dirt road alongside the tracks. Saw just one old tie on the ground. photo

Wow I've been slacking, I grew up a mile south of here at 12 and Milford and never noticed the wye there. I almost wonder if that was there from back in the day when the gravel pits north of New Hudson were getting rail service. I know during the diesel days they turn usually went to South Lyon and back to Pontiac, so a Wye in New Hudson wouldn't really be needed.
