The caption reads as follows:
View of Chesapeake and Ohio Railway train at Union Depot in Detroit, Michigan. Handwritten on back: "C & O train #5 in Union Station, Detroit, 3-19-49, 12:00 noon."
The C&O donut has proudly replaced the Pere Marquette rectangle on the nose, and besides a few substitute M&E cars at the headend, it looks to have a complete 5-car passenger consist behind.
Oh, and just for fun, here's another image, same collection, of FSUD, from the prior decade.
Caption reads: View of trains in railroad yards at Union Depot in Detroit, Michigan. Skyscrapers in background. Handwritten on back: "Detroit railroad yards. Snapshot contest, roto 6-20-37." Label on back: "Cityscape, Edgar G. Brand, Detroit, Mich., 13320 Woodrow Wilson." -
