Re: International traffic at Sault Ste Marie
Gap and Tom train are right on, regarding a through train directly to Sudbury there isn't any the iron ore eastbound terminates at SOO Ontario yard the power picks up their westbound train and returns. The eastbound runs through Rudyard about 1830 hours and then back through Rudyard at midnight anywhere from 2300 to midnight. It usually comes across from SOO Ontario to be checked out by Customs between 9:30 and 10:30 and usually leaves SOO Michigan yard around 11:00 they've been pretty predictable in the last year and a half regarding times. The only change would be vessel traffic it's one of the rare places that ships have priority over the trains but the SOO ship canal was well in place before the railroad showed up and no doubt they got the raw end of the deal ships have priority.
