Into town for the library. Crossing the main, there was a track machine with several workers, waiting to cross Deer St. Two yellow boxes on the wye, one on the passing siding east of the depot.
Got the reading material for the week and heading home. Saw a crew in "green" down at the Houghton St. crossing, boxes as before, and the track machine on the siding by the old saw mill property....head lights on.
Thought I would go watch for the train, at Thompson. Good idea, .....except when I turned off 553, all I saw were coil cars hot foot'n it east.
A quick U turn on 149, and the dog and I beat the rain....just.
