Sounds like you had a great time. Algoma Central never did have many on line customers. The biggest used to be at the end of the Wawa sub that ended at the Lake Superior shoreline. That sub used to handle a lot of iron ore. Now, the entire line long gone. Anyway, I last rode that train on Labor day 1994. We had GP-38's for power. They handled the train very well. Great trip. Like you said, I only remember a couple of sidings with some log cars and a few iron ore cars within the whole 114 miles. It's a shame that the "local" passenger train has vanished. A lot of off grid folks depended on that train.
