Bentonite comes from the Rapid City area of South Dakota/Gillette, Wyoming. It is a binder clay. Works like magic. Used in well drilling and taconite production. Get it wet, make a ball and dry it. Hard as a rock. If you ever close up an old water well you would use a bag of bentonite. Pour it in the well casing, then add water to seal it tighter then Kelseys Nuts. I had to do it once when I sold a house in Caledonia area. Kent County Health Department rules. Perlite is the white stuff your wife mixes with potting soil for the flowers. Light as a feather. Looks like plastic flakes or beads. How they use it in Celotex is beyond me though.
