An article in todays The Mining Journal, says that Stanley Zellar of Zellar Excavating in nearby Gulliver has finalized purchase of The Manistique paper mill. His goal is to have the mill open by spring. Zellar plans to lease the mill to a group from Menominee for making paper bags and cardboard. Previously the plant made rolls of paper. The plant would employ 50 to 100, less than the 147 previously.
