The plant had its own railroad from the mine to the plant and dock.Initially it was electrified. One of the locomotives is displayed along U.S.-2 at the Verso wood yard in Gulliver.
If any goes to the mines, it likely goes by ship. A lot of the limestone goes down Lake Michigan, via the ship Wilfred Sikes which almost exclusively stays in Lake Michigan. It loads several times per week at both Port Inland and Cedarville.
