Mystery Train Location July 4, 2015

I'm visiting somewhere in the UP over this holiday weekend. I was shocked to hear a train whistle while my wife and I were eating ice cream nearby, and so I snapped this shot. I never figured I'd see a train here on July 4th.

Who can figure out where I am in the UP? (Hint: this road is a state highway...)
