What type of logs are they loading? I know in the past there have been non-railroad discussions about the current logging industry in Michigan. It was shocking for some to hear that Michigan is actually increasing, rather than decreasing in available bio-mass each year. The lumber industry in Michigan apparently does a wonderful job of replanting areas with new timber after trees are harvested. Also, I assume the trees are shaved on site after they are chopped down. Does anyone know what they do with the left over limbs. To me this would seem like the type of product to be chopped or ground up and used as either a compost additive or for a biomass fuel facility.
