A few observation from passing through the Eastern UP yesterday.
Trout Lake was packed with LP cars—two long strings, one at the depot and the other in the old pulp yard. There were a few loaded pulp cars and a few boxes in the old pulp yards as well. Cars at the depot:
There were three pulp cars at Caffey and a large pulp pile. Lots of anti-mining signs between Caffey and Gilchrist—I am assuming these are for the proposed carbonate mine. Gulliver had a number of loaded cars in the pulp yard and there ten empty pulp cars on the siding next to the former section house.
The switcher at Futuremark Paper is out of service—curious how they are switching the mill:
