Long string of empty log cars on the stub track east of Trout Lake (the line that used to go to St. Ignace). On the Trout Lake siding on the line toward Escanaba, there were two tank cars, two box cars, and several log cars.
Quiet in Newberry. A tank and a couple box cars on the siding east of the depot. A single hopper west of the depot. The lights were on inside the depot and there were cars in the lot, so I knew the crew was out on a job. Three loaded Besse Forest Products log cars on the industrial spur wood lot. Cars on siding at the Louisiana-Pacific plant.
In Seney there were two log cars mostly loaded.
Finally at Wetmore at dusk I ran into the train. The eastbound train was stopped at Forest Highway 13. Looks like the crew was cleaning a wiper blade in the heavy May snow. The short train consisted of 2 box cars and 2 tank cars.
Four box cars and 2 tank cars sat on the stub track in Munising.
