CN return eastbound through Three Lakes on Monday at 5:50am.
On my way back south yesterday I made the following observations (sorry, no photos):
Humboldt Mill spur reconstruction (Mineral Range): There's silt fencing on both sides of the ROW all along the line - at least as far as I can see from US-41 and from M-95. Looks like some grading has occurred (see Rich P’s post below).
Just north of downtown Channing, the red flashers and bell were activated at the M-95 crossing of the original E&LS line (the Channing – Escanaba line used for storage), but no trains were in sight. About 12:15pm.
In Channing, E&LS engine 402 was idling at the depot at 12:15 pm.
In Pembine, WI, E&LS engines 1338 and 1344 were maneuvering a train of logs across the diamond. A CN train of logs was standing by on their track. About 1:45pm.
Maybe it’s my imagination, but it looks like herbicide has been applied along the E&LS all the way into Green Bay.
