1.1 trillion dollar infastructure bill in 2021 with about 330 bill for rail. All the money must
be appropriated within six years.
Last Friday the FRA announced their appropriations for 2023. Michigan got $48 million
for a new bridge over the Manistee River on the old Indiana and Grand Rapids line near Walton
Junction. This is not "free money" since the state must put up 40% of what they get from the
FRA.
Did Michigan seek any other funding and
get turned down by the FRA?
