Almost every night the southbound train from Frankfort stopped north of the Huron River. The
engine and about seven or eight cars would be cut off from the rest of the train. They went south and then backed up across North Main street to
deliver the cars to a siding along side the former Michigan Central line. About 25 minutes later the
Ann Arbor engine would return to reattach to the remainder of its train and then go off to Toledo.
The connection between the Ann Arbor and the Michigan Central across North Main is still in place. Is there any use of this connection or does the Ann Arbor no longer exchange traffic in
Ann Arbor on its short run from Osmer to Toledo?
Thank you.
