We made a trip back to the old stomping grounds in St. Louis today and there were some interesting rail sightings. The most interesting was the string of high side hoppers at the Michigan Sugar transfer station at Wheeler. It has been a while since I have heard of sugar beets being moved by rail, if that is indeed what they are being used for. The MAC elevator east of Breckenridge had nine tank cars and three "red" Potash Corp. covered hoppers with a gray leased hopper in the mix. Bear Truss in St. Louis had three tank cars and a bulkhead flat.
