Consumers Energy is unloading pipe from 60' PTTX cars in Owosso for trucking to a pipe yard on M-52 at E Farm Lane. There were three cars spotted near the shop yesterday with 8 pipes per car. PTTX 136011 was one of them.
CE says "The two-phase, $550 million project will replace vintage 20-inch pipeline dating back to the 1940s with a new 36-inch pipeline that helps us move natural gas more quickly, safely and efficiently. Construction is expected to start in 2023 at the latest. Each construction phase must be complete in time for the upcoming heating season.
