Re: Northbound Z127 3-12-21
The word is getting around about the new auto rack business. The LSRC is kicking butts these days on getting new business. Apparently GM and LSRC have come together to have new vehicles from the Flint truck assembly transported out of Flint to presumably southern destinations. It has also been reported that some new vehicles are being transported here from other places, and dropped off at the new site (former Buick City loading terminal). LSRC spent a lot of time last summer and fall rehabbing the roughly 2 mile stretch of former CSX trackage from the south end of McGrew yard to the former Buick loading area. And it appears to have paid off for LSRC. Auto rack numbers have risen to the point that some extra #127 trains have been instituted to move the cars back and forth between the CSX connection at Wixom, and Flint. It's been over 20 years since Buick Assembly closed and auto racks had moved on these rails. I got to tell you, there back! It's a good day again for rail fans. Let's give LSRC a big hand for a job well done!
