Yes...the actual loading and/or unloading begun a couple of weeks ago. If you drive southward on I-475 between Carpenter Road and Davison Road, looking to the west after going over Leith street, you will see the large parking lot/staging lot with what appears to be mostly new pick up trucks, and the auto racks are visible as well. While details are still somewhat mum, the assumption would be that LSRC and GM has made some kind of deal to haul vehicles to points south of Michigan. While no one as commented about seeing loading auto racks coming into the area, there has been speculation that this could also be an inbound terminal for autos manufactured elsewhere. The trackage itself has been rebuilt by LSRC workers, having been ongoing since last summer. If/When I find out more concrete information, I will post it to this site.
