Our local model railroading group has been meeting in the Marysville park, close to the CSX line through town, as our old meeting location has been inaccessible since early spring. This past Tuesday evening, which was our last meeting in the park until at least spring, we were treated to a short southbound CSX freight movement- a single GE road engine, three 2 bay covered hoppers, three 3 bay covered hoppers and just 2 tank cars.
It's kind of interesting to see more covered hoppers than tank cars on a line whose major traffic source seems to be in/outbound tank cars, and tank car storage. It's also kind of unnerving to not see many tank cars ready for the coming winter heating season as has always been normal at this time of year. On the other had, it is also good to see that there is still some traffic on the line. Overall train count seems to be down in the area (CSX and CN) lately, so it's nice to at least see a train moving.
Apologies for the cellphone photos- it was the only camera I had available for either shot.
