Port Huron Tunnel Progress

I checked the Port Huron Hearld front page today...as of sometime this afternoon, their report seems to indicate that there has been a removal of about one half of the derailed cars. Also, pumping of the leaked acid was taking longer than first anticipated. Initially, they planned to have the acid pumped entirely sometime today, but indicated that those projections may not happen. Their report states that the acid actually drained into "containment" containers located under the tracks. The law of physics will tell you that the leaked fluids probably ended up somewhere near the center of the tunnel. Also, the paper reported that when the tunnel is totally cleared of wreckage, the entire tunnel will probably be relaid with new ties and rail. You can access the Port Huron Herald by googling their site. They will allow you a few free articles before charging.
