Yard Still Used
The small yard there is still used by two customers...one, Clean Harbors Environmental ships out hazardous materials, and the other (I don't know who) trainsloads, either in or out, I'm not sure, using tank cars for something. There is a plastic mfg company bordered on the west side called Soroc, but they don't use rail. Many years ago, before Soroc, this building was a large Mead paper plant, and they used a lot of rail. I think it was in the 80's that this plant changed owners. Anyway, this yard is switched every other night by an evening local out of Plymouth #D-737. All inbound cars come north with the local, and spotted, all outbound cars will go north to McGrew yard and dropped off for the next day #D-736 evening train to Detroit. Once the outbound cars are dropped off, #737 will return to Plymouth usually lite engines.
