I didn't see the Atlantic City story, but I did catch her when they did the story in the Texas mine. It looks like she was over the top in her performance in both stories. She played Jennifer as a comedic character, and her husband, Tom Arnold, just contributed to the "joke." I don't know, guys. I took my LnL pretty seriously. I don't like them looking ridiculous. I think JJ was an asset as an addition to their story, but the writing for them really suffered after they returned in 1993.
I wonder if the problem was a matter of aging. You can't play an ingenue forever. And you can't play a passionate, lovesick leading man when you are middle aged. They certainly couldn't play the LnL that we crave at the ages they are now. I can understand why the actors felt that they needed to move on.
The costumers did so right by Genie & Tony all sparkly and glamourous. Genie was devastatingly gorgeous here and they turned out Tony so well in his ruffles. They really got to play it up with Roseanne and Tom.
