He looks gorgeous to me.
Interesting. That should be its own post. Who do you believe could do the character justice. They could even make the actor younger a bit. I really can't come up with an actor that could pull it off.
They saw fit to bend the story and change the characters because they refused to continue with the LnL story. It's a crying shame that they let it slip through their fingers, but at least they should try to being back the integrity to the story by restoring the characters to some degree. What a travesty and a betrayal of the audience who invested in them! I'm a realist. I know that the actors have lives outside of the show. Personally, I think they should have and still could bring back Luke...even if he is re-cast. The audience "owns" the characters...not the actors. If the show continues and they need the character, then I really believe they should try a new actor. Tony is not coming back. Genie is still there. Why not try to being back Luke?
It can be fixed with a rewrte. Anything can be rewritten as we well know. They took the most famous soap couple's love legacy and rewrote it to be Luke hating being married , he didn't want kids and felt tied down to Laura and he cheated on her repeatedly. We know that never happened onscreen but it was rewritten as this was how it really was. Same with Holly, Robert and Ethans story. Rewrite it that Ethan is Robert's son. Tony is gone so what difference does it make now except it would restore the LnL Legacy to some degree after years of trashing it. I'm glad these writers at least showed how much Robert and Ethan are alike.
They can fix that in one re-write. Luke and Robert schemed to make Luke Ethan's father to protect him from some unknown threat to Robert. Holly was in on it, and Luke lied to Lucky about it. Perhaps he couldn't tell Laura the truth because she was in a catatonic state and too fragile and unreliable to understand and keep the secret. I don't care how they re-write it. Just do it. Luke would NEVER cheat on Laura. Perhaps that is what is in the letter that he wrote to her!
I didn't watch the scene, because, as usual, I'm way behind on GH and am hoping to catch up.
I'd love for Ethan to be the son of this supercouple instead of ours. It's always the option that made more sense. And I know R&H fans would be absolutely thrilled.
But unless they find a way to rewrite the affair that Luke and Holly supposedly had in the 80s, after Lucky was born, then this does nothing to repair the ugly rewrite to L&L's history. The damage was done to their once well known fidelity the moment it was revealed that Luke could even possibly be Luke's son, no matter who his dad actually is.
