I remember reading at the time that JJ came to set to gave JY a card that said "Thank you for keeping Lucky alive." I would think that would be the most gracious way to handle such a transition!

As a mother of an actor, this gets me pretty annoyed. It was not Jacob Young's fault that they had to re-cast Lucky. It highlights the issues behind the scenes that influenced the story. We have discussed the problem that happens when actors are difficult and slow down production...particularly on a soap when time is really of critical importance. Can you imagine how tough it is to step into a role played by a very popular actor and make it your own?

If you can't click the video, its Jacob Young talking about his first day on set as the (first) Lucky recast. Tony and Genie got into a big argument on set because she didn't want to work with him, ending with Genie storming off the set. Hadn't heard that story before!!!
