I’m not surprised. Honestly when most actors retire, they retire for good. He had a very long career; very few actors start a professional career in their 20s and are still working consistently in their 70s. I know what Tony said 3 years ago, but the only place I really expect to see him again is on GH if his health allows him to return once it is cancelled.
I’m just hoping to see Tony and Genie in scenes together one more time.
I found this video rather tedious to watch. It was like a man with no destination, just wondering around the city on foot or by boat. The only part that was even nice for me was the ending with Kitty. I agree with Ginger. I thought upon retiring Tony had big plans for writing and even acting in plays there in Amsterdam I remember him saying he was learning Dutch so he could be in plays there in Amsterdam. Oh well.
What does Jim Warren plan to do with this? Honestly, if you were not a Geary fan, I can't imagine that you would find this very interesting. I don't think it is a very flattering portrait either as Tony seems rather angry or dour in it except for the last minute or so.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this extraordinary actor just simply decided to retire and disappear from the arts. Where is the book he was going to write? What about the theater he wanted to perform? Just tootling around in his motorboat seems like a pretty empty existence to me for someone who makes such a connection with people when he is acting. Sad.
