You have to remember that Luke has been gone for at least 3 years, and memories of him start to dim. Both Luke and Laura are the greatest characters ever created for a soap...perhaps the greatest in all of fiction. What other couples have sustained interest over decades? Rhett and Scarlett come to mind, but that was only a 3 hour film. Nothing compares to the body of work that Tony and Genie produced as these characters.
