Ginger- LuLu had been stabbed and was in the hospital in surgery thus the appearance of no lipstick and drab surroundings. Ryan, who people think is Kevin , stabbed LuLu and has killed several other people prior. The Port Charles Police are still as awful as they were in the past. They don't have a clue and always arrest the wrong people who have no motive. Ryan would have finished off LuLu but he was struck blind and has some type of virus causing blindness. Jason fell into the catacombs and Sam has jumped into the river to try and save him. The ratings are good one week and not so good the next. Genie has stated in an article on SoapCentral that she went into depression over the sudden exit of her character and it took months for her to recover. She stated she began to eat and gained some weight but thanks to Nutrisystem, she is back on the right track. I don't know if they will try and pair Genie back with Jon/Kevin after this Ryan debacle. She may blame Kevin for keeping Ryan's existence a secret causing the murder of KiKi and the attempted murder of LuLu. I am not really a Kevin and Laura fan as a couple. They were a little bland to me.
I was waiting in a doctor's office yesterday, and they had ABC on (without the sound), and GH was on with Genie. I couldn't hear any of the dialogue, but I was really disappointed in the dreary atmosphere of the whole thing. Everyone was dressed in some variation of black clothing. The make-up was drab on everyone...no lipstick or color at all. It's been two years since I have seen an episode, but it doesn't appear that much has changed. Sam is still crying out for Jason. He was in some sort of sewer. The whole thing seemed pretty depressing.
I was a captive audience there, but if I were anywhere else, I would not be tuning in for that kind of show. GH used to be a little oasis in the afternoon. It didn't matter what was happening in real life, that show was built on love and hope and family. It was an alternative reality...especially important when reality sucked. I don't know about all of you, but I could use a little joy right now.
So, how are the ratings going for GH these days? Is this type of program working for them? I wish this show could find its way out of the misery it seems to constantly create. It would be delightful to see young love once again. I miss the simple comedy and very human interactions of beloved characters. I need an update from you guys as to whether there is a reason to tune in.
