Great to hear from you ......
I'm sure that you've noticed that Ken has decided to pull the plug on this message board.
I'm going to figure out something before he does it.
Don't know what it will be.
But, I can't imagine not having this thing that's been in my life for so long.
My thinking is that we need to discard the Kingston name.
Many reasons for this. the Trio is gone ... but will never be forgotten by us. Not the real one.
At any rate, I am concerned that your stuff could get away.
Very valuable. To many of us.
You did this at a very important time for me. Kept me going during some very difficult times. I'm still grateful.
For some crazy reason .... today .....
I happened to think of Paint Your Wagon.
We all know the significance of it.
I remember going to Shackelton's ... the music store where I bought many Trio albums in Lexington, KY .... they had like telephone booths where you could play records before you bought them.
They had the B'way play version and I wanted to hear the original.
No telling when that was.
Next I remember getting my hair cut.
At a barber shop in Louisville that was right across the street from the Cinamas.
This place was as big a 2 football fields.
THis was so you could park.
They had 4 giant movie screens.
The movie was on there. I'd seen it about a week before this.
Some women came in talking about the idea of a man having two wives. this really upset them. I have no clue why they were there.... in the barber shop.
I'd been drafted by then I think.... waiting out what time i had left.
Saw Eastwood and Lee Marvin.
seemed like the movie would never end.
Got to hear the song as originally sung.
What's going to happen to all of these crazy memories.
they shouldn't be forgotten.
Or, where all of the rest of the Trio songs came from.
Max
