Ken Laing wanting to give THE KINGSTON TRIO PLACE to somebody out there willing to take it over.
I can't blame him.
For one thing, the original and "semi-original" KINGSTON TRIO members are gone:
BOB SHANE / NICK REYNOLDS / DAVE GUARD / JOHN STEWART
As Max H Schwartz pointed out in a previous post - people he meets nowadays never even heard of THE KINGSTON TRIO.
In my contact with CEO & President Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds website,
he's got ZERO INTEREST in reissuing KINGSTON TRIO records on vinyl.
Chad was okay with reissuing HARRY BELAFONTE AT CARNEGIE HALL (great job, by the way),
and PETER PAUL & MARY albums on his Analogue Records Production Company,
as well as so many other vocal bands, etc...etc...
but THE KINGSTON TRIO ? ** Nada **
If not mistaken, Ken Laing started this website about 30 years ago. (1997?)
Ken did an exceptional job and gave this website (Message Board included) Class and Respectability.
I can only wish Ken Laing success and good health in his future endeavours.
Thank You for all the years, Ken.

Make this the Folk Legacy Trio Fan Club Message Board.
They already have a web site where the board could be hosted.
Charge 12$ a year to be a fan club member and to be able to post.
The Folk Legacy Trio and The Brothers Four are the only active folk groups.
Both have suffered great audience losses.
why?
Most of their fans are now in cemeteries.
The 1960s Folk Era is all but dead.
Both Joans are no longer touring.
this would keep what's left of the Era supporters a place to meet.
What do you all think of this idea?
Max
