This is all very interesting......

I've been fighting a cold for the last few days.

Totally knocked me out of commission.

I have major problems with my teeth... what's left of them.

The cold has aggravated my teeth problems. I'm on soup. Tried to eat a burger yesterday and it caused a lot of pain.

You could say that Bob Shane and I became close friends because he had problems with his teeth.

There was a break in their schedule and Bob used it to see his dentist.

His dentist was in NY.

Why that was would be an interesting story.

The Trio's next show was in Louisville and Bob got here a day early after leaving NY.

My friend, Tom McGoodwin and I got lucky. We called the hotel where the Trio was going to be staying to see when they'd get in...the hotel operator rang Bob's room.

The rest was history. We met for lunch and spent the rest of the day getting to know each other.

Shane got the chili.

That was around 1982 or so.

We'd had a lot of close encounters before that, but this meeting sealed the deal because I'm a car guy and Bob was a car guy.

The restaurant where we ate lunch didn't make it through the Pandemic. Their 2nd location did.

I was at one of the storage units we have yesterday.

We've been living with a friend for the last 2 years.

Time flies.

It's all because of the housing shortage in Louisville. And, inflation.

I have one of those tables that normally sits next to a bed. It has 2 drawers. I stacked all of my stereo gear on top of it.

In one of the drawers is probably the 2 most valuable books I own.

One is Allan Shaw's book.
