Jim Reeves was very popular on the radio in Western Samoa when I was in the Peace Corps back in 1991-1993. The radio there was like 1950s-1960s AM radio in the States: a mix of every artist from Elvis, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, Jim Reeves, Frank Sinatra, et al., and Sanoan music. To paraphrase Forest Gump's mother, Samoan radio was like a box of chocolates; you never knew what you were gonna get next. I loved it!

Wishing all you Mothers out there a Happy Mothers Day.
Make sure your kids take you out to a fancy restaurant.
You deserve a celebration bigger and better than a "Big Mac". (hahaha)
AND ALSO - I want to wish Ken a speedy recovery regarding his "Big C".
As Bob Shane (who dealt with Heart problems) used to tell us:
"Gettin' Old Ain't For Sissies"
If that isn't the truth, I don't know what is.
Thoughts, Good Wishes & Prayers are with you, Ken.
Yes, and ----
Remember Country & Western singer Jim Reeves?
Jim had a big hit with his song "He'll Have To Go" in 1959 when he phones his girlfriend and finds out she's got another guy at her home.
Who was to know that 5 years later, Jim Reeves would be killed in a plane crash (age 40) when he lost control of his "single engine"
Beechcraft Debonaire airpane while he unsuccessfully piloted through a major thunderstorm.
What a terrific song "He'll Have To Go" was, sung by Jim Reeves with his unique "velvet" voice. (reaching #1 on the Hit Parade)
Love the way this song begins:
Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone
Let's pretend that we're together all alone
I'll tell the man to turn the jukebox way down low
And you can tell your friend there with you, he'll have to go.
