Why would I say that the Journeymen were a better folk group then The Kingston Trio?

Simple reason... The Kingston Trio was NEVER a folk Group>

So, what were they ?

EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, the commercial world of music that existed after their heyday couldn't figure them out... they couldn't fit into any of the slots.


So, now they've been long forgotten.

Except, by us.

Think about Sinatra.....

His version couldn't hold a candle to what Shane did.

My cousin and I always gave each other albums for Christmas.

I can't remember which one I gave her that year.

She gave me Going Places... in STEREO...

But, I had no stereo.

So, I couldn't play it.


Until ............

My parents had this record player that was part of the TV and a radio. Called a consol.

I got a stereo cartridge for it.


Borrowed an amplifier from Tom McGoodwin.

I had these Air Force surplus super headphones. They were the ones that jet fighters used.

And, I was finally able to listen to it.

I played that album about a million times.
