Bob Shane and I were good friends for about 15 years.

During this time, I never asked him anything about music or the Trio.

Why?

Because in a round about way, he admitted that the genius behind the Trio was Dave.

Without Dave ... there was no Trio.

Stewart gave the Trio another good 5 years.

But, it was never the same without Dave.

But, if Dave had stayed...it would have been a disaster.

For many reasons.

Whiskey Hill Singers made it plain that Dave was headed in the wrong direction.

I keep coming back to this album.

Hangman is the only song that doesn't belong in it.

Otherwise ... after Hungry i, it may have been the best Guard album.
