I grew up in Lexington, KY.
Went to Western (Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY)
Met a girl from Louisville (Jackee) there. We got married in 1967 and lived in Louisville until the day Elvis died and moved to Bedford, KY. Moved back to Louisville in 1983. Moved to Greensboro, NC in 1985 and lived there for 5 years. (There was an authorized Martin repair shop there. I visited it once a week. Met Chris Martin there. They put my first D-28, that my father bought for me in 1964, that I had the guy in Nashville who made Trigger for Willie make it into left-handed, put it back to righ-handed so that Jackee's father could play it since I'd found a 1966 factory left-handed D-28 (Which I was forced to sell in 2008 for next to nothing because of that damn recession) and now I can't play it because it's right-handed, but I can't play anyway due to arthritis. Moved to Lexington in 1990. Lived there and moved back to Louisville in 2010. Left Louisville in 2024 and moved back to Bedford.
I'm going to have to go to Lexington in the next few weeks. I want to go to Charlie's Fish... for a fish sandwich... drive by the neighborhood where I grew up... maybe see an old friend, if I can catch him....and then go to Pop's.
Pop sells used records. It's a pretty big place. He has copies of the Whipped Cream album glued to the top of all of the walls in the place. There has to be .... at least a hundred of them.
