About two weeks ago, I had surgery for the removal of a large tumor in my lower-left eyelid. The tumor extended inward toward the nasal area. The surgeon was able to remove the well-differentiated squamous mass of the tumor, but was unable to remove all the less well-differentiated squamous cell mass. I have a follow-up appointment with the surgeon and oncologist, who will outline the next steps in my treatment. The gist of it all is that I could lose my left eye as a necessary part of getting all the remaining tumor. I'm hoping there will be another more effective form of infusion therapy available that will eradicate any remaining tumor and thus not require the removal of my eye. Folk On!
