After looking again at the Sunday Morning episode I noticed that Woody’s original draft of “This Land Is Your Land” has “Staten” crossed out and “New York” written above it in the line “From California to the New York Island ...” at 3:21 minutes into the video. I always wondered which NY Island Woody was thinking of. Was it Manhattan, Staten or Long Island? Now I know. Having been born on Long Island I’m a little disappointed but still love the song.
