I've always wondered what happened to it. I've also wondered how many of them were made with Brazilian Rosewood. I've only seen one that was for sale. Unfortunately, it was beat all to hell. Even, so, if I'd had the money at the time, I would have bought it and I would have sent it back to Martin to fix. The ones that are Brazilian have to be worth a lot. The one Bob had has to be the most valuable one.
This is probably the last video where Bob is playing S&S with NBJ.
In many ways ... this could be the last video of what The Kingston Trio was all about in its day.
But, even Bob felt that the Trio ended when Dave left.
At any rate ... this video was made in 1966 ....
The magic of The Kingston Trio still existed then.
So did my youth.
So, watching and hearing Bob has a lot of emotion tied into it for me.
But, to be honest ... Scotch and Soda was never a song that appealed that much to me.
I had a roommate that loved it. I have no idea why. He wasn't a drinker.
But, the song is so synonymous with Bob ....
no matter how you might feel about the song ...
After being a Trio fan for .... 67 years ...
It's a big part of my life.
AND, BTW, it seems like I've heard him sing the song a million times because it seems like I was at a million shows where he sang it.
Yes, after a while ... it kinda rubs off on you.
Now ...............
I find that all the time I'm kinda pinching myself.
I can't believe all the things I did.
It's just really sad that there are so few people left that I did stuff with.
One way or another ... this hits me every day.
