This Martin model was designed to be ergonomically easier to play and hold than traditional Martin designs. Its tone has also been tweaked to be more "modern" than that of a dreadnought or other traditional Martin designs. I haven't played one yet but I've heard some good reports on the design, especially on the higher-priced Martin SC-28E series model with better pickup/preamp systems than the lower-cost, introductory Martin SC-13E model that was released a few years ago and which is still in production.

Is it the "ultimate Martin?" Only a player can judge if its design and tone suit their music and style more than another Martin body design.
