Hi Paul,
As Susan pointed out in her post, Mike Kirkland left THE BROTHERS FOUR in 1969 and was replaced by Mark Pearson.
The reason for Mike leaving had to do with his little son (2 years old) dying from Pneumonia.
Mike Kirkland decided he wanted to give up Show Business and spend more time with his Family.
