It features former Kingston Trio members George Grove, Bill Zorn and Rick Dougherty.
George Grove performs "San Miguel" as a solo, and he does an excellent job which is worth listening to.
Like you, George pays attention to the end of the song. He gives emphasis in the way he sings -> "....and Manuel close the door".
I couldn't find George Grove's performance on YouTube, but with luck, perhaps somebody could post it here.
Season's Greetings Everybody!

Nice find, Gerry. I always loved this story song by Jane Bowers, and when she wrote it,
Jane probably had Dave Guard in mind because it sounds so perfect for his voice.
My favorite line from San Miguel is "I ride with the gun behind as she visits her friends here and there."
Something special about that verse by Manuel.
Then of course I love the closing when La Dona Maria Elena Cantrell says to Manuel:
"Good evening, Manuel ~ or Manuel por fav-or ~ or the carriage, Manuel ~ or Manuel, close the door."
^^^^ Manuel, Close The Door ^^^^
Beautiful song! Beautiful love story! Beautiful ending!
Jane Bowers was a magnificent and exceptional songwriter.
