For some reason, my father always wanted to be a guest on the Arthur Godfrey radio show. His buddy Amos Jacobs (AKA Danny Thomas) pulled a few strings and made it happen. Shortly before the show ended it's run, Eddie was invited to be a guest on the show. March 8th, 1972. Theresa Brewer was also a guest on the show. Some odd ball rule, was that a performer could only be a guest if they were appearing somewhere in NYC. My Dad got an agent to book him for a one night stand at a club that was in the basement of the Empire State Building.

BTW Godfrey was such a tyrant and had a filthy mouth that the shows had to be taped rather than recorded live or the censors would not allow them on the air.
