I told the store clerk I was surprised to not see the Kingston Trio as a featured users of Martins. He pointed me to the practice room where a poster of Bob, Dave, and Nick oversees whoever is taking a Martin out for a spin.
Unfortunately, the clerk then informed me he met two of the original members of the Trio this past summer when they performed! "Quel fromage!", I spoke out, all the originals who we loved, including John Stewart have passed away!"
"No, no! They assured me they were the originals!" he said.
"No, no!" said I, Perhaps you were dead during the summer?"
I purchased my shirt and left him to do his due diligence.
In the Martin Museum however, there hangs Kingston Trio poster with one each of the commemorative instruments. A note alongside the D-28 reads: "Bob Shane single handedly sold more Martin D-28 guitars than anyone else in the history of the company.
And that is a fact.

P.S.
I took pictures of the two posters but am unable to insert them here.
