Both. Bob's singing style imbued his great songs with foreshadowing, tension, and release. Neil Young also embodies these songwriting and performance traits.

As great a song writer as Bob Dylan is (And he is), I can barely stand listening to him sing. I never bought a Dylan album in my life. Tangled Up In Blue is one of the few songs I enjoy his singing on. So guys and gals, did you buy Dylan's records for the sound or his message? MTABob
