Happy anniversary, Max.
In those pre-Internet days, I didn't even know the Trio had broken up. Hey, I was only 14. I didn't figure it out until I saw California Bloodlines in my local record store. Seeing Stewart's hair and clothing, I figured the Trio was no more.
In about 1971, I found OUAT in the cut-out bin at Two Guys, one of the early big-box discount stores. I was skeptical because there was an outfit called Pickwick that was releasing albums of old Trio album cuts with new covers.
I didn't want to pluck down a couple of dollars for stuff I already had. When I looked at the song list, however, I was intrigued to see some new songs, like "Goodnight, Irene," "Baby, You've Been on My Mind," and "Tomorrow is a Long Time," so I bought the album, probably for 99 cents.
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing new material and the re-creation of stuff like "Getaway John" from the Guard years. My only complaint was that like all the post-Capitol albums, the sound was thin.
